Knife measures 3 1/2 tip-to-tip. 9/16 thick (13.8 mm). This knife is 13.8 mm thick. Not suitable for hand grinders or lightweight imported #32 meat grinders. Measure the thickness of your old knife prior to ordering. This knife is made for heavy duty, large capacity meat grinders. As with ANY meat grinder, always tighten the closing ring by hand ONLY. Do not overtighten the closing ring. Let it gently close until it stops. Your plate and knife will last much, much longer without the unnecessary stress from overtightening the ring.
